Chuck was born in Vietnam, raised in Pennsylvania and now calls San Francisco home. He was tired of developing and managing websites for other people/companies and serendipitously launched foodgawker in June 2008, which eventually turned into the gawkerverse network of sites. When he isn't thinking about new features or sites to add, Chuck loves traveling, eating, watching Penn State football and volleyball, cooking, taking photos of the Golden Gate Bridge and working out (in order to eat more).
Maria was born and raised in San Francisco and decided to move south, to San Jose, where the weather is warmer. She earned a BFA in Graphic Design with a minor in Photography from San Jose State University. When she isn't moderating or designing the latest gawkerverse user interface she likes to blog about anything artsy, plan room renovations, and occasionally embrace her inner nerd with some Zelda! She is also a cupcake connoisseur.
Nicole is a California girl, born and raised in the Bay Area but she moved east in 2012 to Houston, Texas. Talk about culture shock! Her plate is full, so to speak, as a student, freelance designer, photographer and serial crafter. When she isn't moderating or pinning (best job ever?), she knits, blogs about fashion & body acceptance and can be found in her kitchen, trying out new gluten free recipes.
Angie is a San Francisco native who returned back to the Bay in 2012 after a long stint in Los Angeles. She graduated with a BFA in Photography and media from CalArts in 2009, and still continues to photograph when she is not in class or foodgawking. Her passions include: art, camping, traveling, gardening, food and South Korean stationery.
Amber is a Pennsylvania native who lived on the East coast until moving West two years ago. She’s now in the Bay Area enjoying the sun and not missing the cold, cold snow. She graduated with a BFA in Photography and an Art History minor from Edinboro University. When she’s not moderating, she enjoys photographing, exploring nature, experimenting in the kitchen, and nestling up with an great art or fiction book.
Allyson is a bay area native who graduated from San Jose State with a degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Photography. As a former wedding photographer, she can always be seen with a camera in hand. The only time you'll find her without a camera is when she is asleep. In her spare time she loves to hang out with Mickey and friends at Disneyland. She also loves to volunteer, travel, bake, and eat good food.
Annissa was raised in California but moved to Texas as an adult to see what the rest of the country was like. Her passions include portraiture photography, traveling to far-off places, political philosophy, and dark chocolate. Her dream is to someday be compared to Leslie Knope. When not gawking, Annissa can be found behind a lens or a good book.

Edward was born in Virginia and studied Computer Science in Rochester, NY, after which he moved to Germany to follow his heart. While an assistant English teacher in Germany, he had the good fortune to meet Chuck online a month after he started foodgawker. He did the initial custom WordPress development for the site, but now spends most of his time on the mobile apps. When not working on the next version of the apps, Edward can be found on his bicycle in the hills of the Eifel mountains.
